Caddyshack T-Shirts Judge Smails

We Caddyshack fans all love to hate Judge Smails, Bushwood Country Club's top dog and resident cheapskate. However, that doesn't mean he isn't funny. The Judge is played perfectly by Ted Knight, whom I fondly remember as a child watching The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Too Close for Comfort. For Judge Smails, everything has to be perfect, including his hair. He and his grandson, Spaulding, are "regular pals". One of my favorite Judge lines is the snack bar scene when Spaulding is running through a list of all of the things that he wants and the Judge interrupts with, "You'll Get Nothing and Like It!". You have no idea how many times I've used that line on my kid and that's why it belongs on a T-Shirt.

Caddyshack T-Shirts Al Czervik

Growing up, Rodney Dangerfield was one of my favorite comedians of all time. His late 1980's No Respect Specials on HBO featuring Roseanne Barr as his wife gave rise to comic legends such as Jerry Seinfeld, Sam Kinison, and Andrew Dice Clay among many others. I'm a huge fan of ALL Rodney Dangerfield movies like Back to School, Easy Money and of course Caddyshack. Rodney also had a bit part in a film with Richard Pryor called "Moving" that I thought was totally hilarious.

Rodney Dangerfield's character in Caddyshack is Al Czervik, which I consider to be an every man's rich guy. This, in stark contrast with Judge Smails, who is a total snob. Al is a constant thorn in the Judge's side as Al's ultimate goal is to buy Bushwood Country Club and turn it into a Mall with a huge parking lot. Almost all of Al Czervik's speaking parts are classic one-liners, but my favorite exchange has to do with Judge Smails and his ugly hat. "Aw, this is the worst looking hat I ever saw. You buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?...Oh, it looks good on you though". A few minutes later Al sees Judge in the first tee-box and asks "Hey Whitey, Where's Your Hat?!" That's the basis for these Caddyshack Al Czervik T-Shirts.

Caddyshack T-Shirts Ty Webb Be the Ball

Of all the main characters in the movie Caddyshack, Ty Webb is one of my least favorite. That's weird, because I've always been a huge Chevy Chase fan, especially in his Fletch and Vacation movies. Ty Webb's dry sense of humor, however, is a nice change of pace from his bombastic and sometimes unusual counterparts. I mean, who hasn't ever been on a putting green and started belting out Ty Webb's "Be the Ball" mantra of "Na na na na na"? That's why I made a Caddyshack T-Shirt featuring one of Ty Webb's best parts of the movie.

Caddyshack T-Shirts Carl Spackler and The Gopher

Who doesn't want a Caddyshack T-Shirt featuring one of the most epic battles of Motion Picture history. For me, Carl Spackler vs. The Gopher (aka Varmint Cong) is right up there with Rocky vs. Apollo Creed and Godzilla vs. King Kong...well, maybe a little higher. Here is the same design, highlighting this war on a menace to the golfing industry, in both the G-Rated version(for all fans) and the more risque version(my personal favorite). I guarantee you will get a laugh wherever you go wearing one of these Caddyshack Shirts. The most memorable place I got noticed wearing this T-Shirt was in a haunted house at Screams Amusement Park near Dallas, Texas. It was interesting to say the least.

Caddyshack Quotes Reviewed

Funny movies are a dime a dozen, but only a few gather a following of fans that like to recite movie quotes on a regular basis. I believe that the 80's classic movie, Caddyshack, is the most notorious of them all. There isn't a day in my life that goes by without me making reference to one of my favorite Caddyshack Quotes. What's even better is when your efforts are recognized by one of your fellow Caddyshack connoisseurs. This blog is for those Caddyshack fans that want to brush up on their movie lines, discuss this classic film, and maybe even get some cool Caddyshack Quotes T-Shirts and Gifts.

For those that aren't familiar with the movie Caddyshack, or have seen it before but don't really remember much about it, here are some of the basics. The story involves a young golf caddy, Danny Noonan, who wants to go to law school, but is in need of a mentor that can help him get there. Will he continue to run around in circles by listening to the zany and often confusing advice of zen golfer, Ty Webb? Or, will he sell his soul and pander to Bushwood Country Club's top dog and ultimate cheap skate, Judge Smails? In the end, its up to the loud and obnoxious millionaire land developer, Al Czervik, to tap into Danny's talents as a golfer and save the day. In the middle, you have an epic struggle of survival between a shell shocked assistant greenskeeper, Carl Spackler, and a gopher hell bent on destroying the golf course. It doesn't get any crazier than that.

What makes the movie so great is the talent and contrasting styles of the four comic legends involved, Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield, Chevy Chase, and Ted Knight. Caddyshack Director, Harold Ramis, brilliantly allows his characters to go off script and what he ends up with are some of the best improvisational scenes, featuring some of the most memorable quotes, in film history. If you ever buy the Caddyshack DVD, be sure to watch the making of Caddyshack as you will learn some interesting and little known fact about the movie. Gunga Galunga!
